Most atheists believe that Christians aren't just mistaken about their belief in God, but that they're actually crazy. Despite being a Christian myself, I actually empathize with this impression of the generic Christian God. Not because I believe it unworthy of belief, but because most Christians do an awful job describing who God is.

In this video, we dive deep into the misconceptions surrounding the Christian God, particularly the cringe-worthy term "Sky Daddy." Many Christians inadvertently portray God this way, leading to mockery and misunderstanding. We'll explore how this limited view fails to capture the profound nature of God as revealed in the Bible.

We'll examine the biblical revelation of God's name, "I AM WHO I AM," from the book of Exodus. On the surface, this name seems vague, but it actually reveals a profound truth about God's essence and existence. By understanding the metaphysical concepts of essence and existence, we'll see that God's essence is existence itself.

Thomas Aquinas, one of the greatest theologians, confirms this in his Summa Theologiae, stating that in God, essence and existence are the same. This aligns with the ontological argument, demonstrating that the Christian God is not just any being but the very foundation of all reality.

The video also explores the Trinitarian nature of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We'll explain how the Trinity is essential for understanding God's nature. The Father is the uncaused cause, the Son (the Logos) embodies divine thought and knowledge, and the Spirit is the life-giving action. This tri-unity is not just a theological concept but the foundation of all existence, knowledge, and goodness.

By the end of this video, you'll see how the Trinitarian God aligns with the greatest being conceivable, as argued in the ontological framework. This deeper understanding dismantles the simplistic notion of God as a "Sky Daddy" and reveals a more accurate and profound portrayal of the Christian God.
