यह एक बेहद सुंदर और जीवन से भरी हुई सीख देने वाली कहानी है।

कहानी एक ऐसे बुज़ुर्ग की है जिनके दोनों हाथों में उम्र बढ़ने की वजह से बहुत कंपन आ गया था। उस कंपन के चलते वे अक्सर चाय का कप, प्लेट या अन्य सामान गिरा बैठते थे। उनके बेटे और बहू इस परेशानी से बहुत परेशान हो गए थे। उन्हें लगता था कि इसका समाधान यही है कि उन्हें लकड़ी के बर्तन में खाना दिया जाए, जिससे उनका सामान न टूटे।

धीरे-धीरे उन्होंने यही उपाय अपना लिया। उन्हें लगता था कि उन्होंने समस्या का हल ढूंढ लिया है। परंतु वे यह नहीं समझ पाए कि उनकी यह सोच, उनके पिता से बेअदबी और बेरुख़ी का संकेत बन रही है। वे यह भी नहीं सोच सके कि आज जो वे कर रहे हैं, वही उनके बच्चों के मन में एक बुरी सीख बन सकती है।

समय बीता। एक दिन उनका बेटा बगीचे में लकड़ी से कुछ बना रहा था। दोनों पिता-पुत्र उसके पास गए और पूछा — “क्या कर रहे हो?”

लड़के ने मासूमियत से जवाब दिया —
“मैं खेल नहीं रहा हूँ, मैं आपके लिए लकड़ी का बर्तन बना रहा हूँ। क्योंकि जब आप दोनों बूढ़े हो जाएंगे तो मैं भी आपको लकड़ी के बर्तन में खाना दूँगा, जैसे आपने दादाजी को दिया।”

यह सुनते ही दोनों को अपने व्यवहार पर शर्म आ गई। उन्हें एहसास हुआ कि अपने बुज़ुर्गों के साथ किए गए बर्ताव का असर अगली पीढ़ी पर पड़ता है। उन्होंने तुरंत अपनी गलती समझी और फिर से अपने पिता के साथ पहले की तरह बैठकर कप-प्लेट में खाना परोसने लगे।

यह कहानी हमें सिखाती है कि सम्मान, संवेदनशीलता और धैर्य किसी भी रिश्ते को मजबूत बनाते हैं। जो हम आज करते हैं, वही कल हमारे बच्चों की आदत और सोच बनती है।

The story is about an elderly man whose hands trembled due to old age. Because of the shaking, he would often drop his tea cups, plates, or other utensils. His son and daughter-in-law got frustrated and disturbed by this daily inconvenience. They thought the best solution was to serve him food in wooden utensils so nothing would break.

Gradually, they started doing this regularly and believed they had found the perfect solution. However, they failed to realize that this act was disrespectful and insensitive. They didn’t understand that by behaving this way, they were planting the seeds of disregard in their children’s minds. One day, this ignorance would turn into a painful reality.

As time passed, the son’s child was seen working with wood in the garden. Curious, the father and uncle asked him, “What are you doing?”

The boy innocently replied:
“I’m not playing. I’m making wooden utensils for you, because when you grow old, I will feed you in wooden utensils just like you gave food to grandfather.”

This response shocked them. It made them realize how their behavior had influenced the next generation. They felt deep regret and understood that respect and compassion should never be compromised.

After that, they started treating their father with love and dignity, serving him food in proper crockery again.

This story teaches us that respect, patience, and empathy strengthen relationships. What we practice today becomes tomorrow’s habit for our children.
