4th Grade Math 3.4, Multiply 2-digit Factors Using Partial Products

Описание к видео 4th Grade Math 3.4, Multiply 2-digit Factors Using Partial Products

We can use place value and partial products to multiply 2-digit factors. We break apart the factors into tens and ones and multiply to find the partial products, then add the partial products. To multiply using partial products is different than multiplying with regrouping. Remember we can turn our paper sideways, to use the lines, to keep our place values straight. Before we multiply, we can estimate the product so we know what a reasonable answer might be. We solve several 2-digit multiplication equations using partial products. We show different ways to represent a number or product. We reason abstractly by finding unknown digits and completing equations. We find the unknown digits for partial products written in an equation.
