The live version of this on the original 24 Nights is my favourite Clapton song, and one of my favourite songs of all time. In fact the live version he played in the 1990-92 period just got bigger bolder and better over time, there are some great bootlegs on YouTube. On the American tours in particular he went wild, far less restrained than the spectacularly good 24 nights version, which has more of a small venue vibe. This is loosely based on the wilder versions, I may do it again in future with a more 24 nights like version. all improvised, so not a direct cover, more trying to capture the style and feel while retaining some of my own voice.
