Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon R (SNES - English) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon R (SNES - English) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Bandai's anime-licensed beat 'em up for the Super Nintendo, Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon R.

It was only officially released in Japan under the name Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R (美少女戦士セーラームーンR). The file that this is running from has been patched into English by FuSoYa and Masamune, according to the title screen.

It's very similar to the Mega Drive Sailor Moon game, but it feels much stiffer to control. The graphics are pretty nicely done, with some detailed and surprisingly interesting backgrounds (I always loved the look of the first stage). and so is the soundtrack - well, except for the title track, of all things. Who heard that rendition and thought, "Yup, that's a keeper!"? It's like someone tried to rip off the Super Bomberman 2 style, and ... well, let's just say that it happened.

It plays just fine. It's a bit too easy (well, I guess that should be obvious - it was a game targeting pre-teen and teenage girls), and it's not got the variety or versatility of Streets of Rage or Final Fight, but it's not like it really needs it.

It's not quite as good as the Sega Mega Drive game, but it's a perfectly servicable beat up 'em with a pretty appealing paint job on it if your a fan of Ms. Tsukino. Sailor Moon is pretty up-there in terms of worldwide popularity, so if you're one of those people that dig the show (I'm not embarrassed to admit I've always liked it!) and haven't played this, it's a pretty enjoyable throwback to the early 90s for an afternoon.
