Were Sherman tanks reserved for elite units?

One often hears that the Red Army liked the Sherman tank so much, it was only reserved for Guards units, the best of the best. In this video, I take a look at whether or not this is true and how many Red Army tank units that were issued Sherman tanks were actually Guards.
