Some ideas about selecting & tuning congas for certain musical situations are demonstrated in this video. Two tuning ranges were recorded with and without a backing track. Two brands of congas are used in the medium tuning range for reference. The LP congas were also recorded in a higher tuning for comparison demonstrating the somewhat unique sound of the requinto in particular. The LP set are one size smaller (head diameter) than the Moperc. Each set of congas consists of 3 drums. The Moperc drum sizes are the quinto, conga, and tumba, while the LP drums are a requinto, quinto, and conga.
