What is Friday Night Funkin'?
Friday Night Funkin' (FNF) is an indie rhythm game that blew up in popularity after its release during a game jam in 2020. Developed by a small team known as The Funkin' Crew, it was led by programmer Ninjamuffin99 (Cameron Taylor), with art by PhantomArcade (David Brown) and evilsk8r (Isaac Garcia), and music composed by Kawai Sprite (Isaac Garcia). The game became a huge success due to its catchy beats, retro visuals, and fun, competitive gameplay, where players take on the role of "Boyfriend," battling through rhythm-based challenges to win the approval of his "Girlfriend's" family and other quirky opponents.
FNF quickly became a hit for its nostalgic art style, catchy music, and challenging rhythm-based gameplay. Since then, it’s grown into a massive phenomenon with a dedicated fanbase and a thriving modding community.
