Cronus, one night without his wife Rhea's knowledge, disguises himself as a horse and meets with the sea nymph Philyra, with whom he falls in love and has a relationship.

From this relationship, Chiron, an immortal and half-human, half-horse centaur, is born.

However, due to his appearance, he is abandoned by his mother.

Raised by Apollo, Chiron develops himself in the fields of music, astrology, and prophecy, becoming the teacher of legendary heroes.

One day, while visiting Pholus with Hercules, they are attacked by other centaurs.

In the midst of this attack, Chiron is accidentally struck by a poisoned arrow fired by Hercules.

Since Chiron is immortal, he survives, but he is left with a pain that will never cease.

To escape the pain and to die, he pleads to Zeus.

Zeus informs him that if he makes a Fate change with a mortal, he could die.

Chiron gives his immortality to Prometheus, who brought fire to humanity. Thus, he is freed from his tormenting pain.

Zeus rewards Chiron's sacrifice by giving him a place among the stars as the constellation Sagittarius.
