Excitebike World Rally (Wii) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Excitebike World Rally (Wii) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Nintendo's 2009 racing game for the Nintendo Wii, Excitebike World Rally.

Played through all five cups of the World Tour with S rankings.

Though it has rarely been recognized at such, the Excitebike franchise has consistently proven itself as one of Nintendo's best franchises. From Excitebike to Excitebots, each and every game has been a critical success, and each still has its fans today, like so many other successful franchises that lie dormant in Nintendo's vaults.

Excitebike World Rally, a WiiWare exclusive release, is one of the many beloved but largely forgotten games in the series. It is essentially an expanded remake of the original 1984 game, playing far more traditionally than either Excite Truck or Excitebots did.

There are five cups to race, each with four races, all dressed up in fun themes based on different countries, and it supported online multi-player on Nintendo's network.

The tracks are similar to the ones in the NES game - the main exception being that they also include the track-morphing items introduced by Excite Truck - and they all feel suitably nostalgic, but thanks to the smooth animation and improved controls, it plays even better than the original.

Beyond that, you can unlock new colors for your bike by getting S rankings on the various cups, and the track designer makes a fully-featured return. The upgraded 3D graphics look great, the soundtrack (which reminds me of the music in Saved By The Bell with its cheesy synths and guitar riffs) is perfectly suited to the action, and the (optional) motion controls feel perfect.

Overall, it's an excellent showing for an 80s classic. So, Nintendo, aren't we about due for something else? Anything? It's been awhile.

(And hey, how about let's not forget Punch-Out!! while we're at it.)
