Delia Derbyshire Day 2019

Описание к видео Delia Derbyshire Day 2019

Delia Derbyshire was one of the original composers of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. As a pioneer of electronic music, she worked with tape loops and electronic equipment to create the 'Dr Who' theme tune known and loved today.

Each year the trust that keeps her music and legacy available for people to discover her work, and get involved with producing their own sounds, holds a day to celebrate. Delia Derbyshire Day 2019 held music production workshops, live performances, audio and digital visuals and discussion with musical luminaries influenced by her work.

David Vorhaus was part of an artistic collective known as White Noise that included Delia. Their debut album 'An Electric Storm' was released by Island, under the leadership of Chris Blackwell. It is a seminal work that predates the use of stereo in recording, yet manages to create stereo effects.

In 2019, 'An Electric Storm' had its 50th birthday and Vorhaus was at the Delia Derbyshire Day celebrations to talk about his involvement with the project.

This film documents some of the artists, filmmakers, musicians and people involved.
