It’s been 10 years since The West was first released! To all our players, and to the team behind The West, Happy Anniversary!

In this video, we invited team members of The West who were imperative to its success, to share their stories with you. From the founders’ recollection of their love of Western movies, and how this inspired the browser game we know and love today, we see the early beginnings of when InnoGames was still a small company.

Soon, the game started kicking off, with more and more players slapping on their cowboy boots and joining the bandwagon. Local and international events were launched, game elements—including fashion items—were designed, and internally, software was created for the fastest and most agile content. The team looks back on their favorite moments and projects on the quests, including the challenging task of handcrafting the visually capturing map—unique to The West.
