Add USB 2,3,C & Media Card Ports To Your (Older) Computer (4K)

Описание к видео Add USB 2,3,C & Media Card Ports To Your (Older) Computer (4K)

You can add USB 2, 3, C ports to an older PC computer case along with micro, SD and other card formats slots. Some include audio ports, SATA ports, 4 pin power, etc.
They fit a 5.25" PC case slot (like a DVD player) and are called something like "Internal Card Reader" or "Media Multi-Function Dashboard" or "PC Front Panel" Very convenient and money saving.
And here are the "Buts".
But 1, it works best if you go directly from your mother board, which requires you give up existing front panel USB ports (probably). So it's good for reusing an older case.
But 2 you can keep your existing front USB ports if you have a USB 3.0 PCI-E expansion card with 19 pin slot adapter and the "buts" for this follows (spoiler, good luck finding one that's not more problems than it's worth).

Let me save you lost the time, money, and aggravation of adding a USB 3.0 PCI-E Expansion Card.
1) The one I bought almost works using native drivers, BUT the computer would not shut off . That's a 1980s DOS PC level of bad hardware.
2) Their drivers work, BUT slow boot up by about 3x, seem to add junk software (spyware?) and don't have just a bare driver available. However it does prevent the infinite rebooting.
MAYBE if you can find one with onboard (and not downloaded) drivers, it might work better. The drivers are in the hardware, are smaller / faster, and usually won't contain garbage-ware.
Summary: The Dashboard is good by itself direct to the motherboard to keep using an older case, but not worth it if you need to add a PCI-E expansion card.
WARNING: You can ruin your computer if you mis-wire things or shock it with static electricity. If you don't know what you are doing, find a friend who does or DON'T MESS WITH IT!
