In this talk Joe Brewer gives a sobering overview of our planetary predicament in preparation for an exploration into one of the holistic pathways that exists for regenerating the Earth. It is a recording of a talk given at The Center for Human Flourishing in Carbondale, Colorado on November 13, 2022 to help catalyze community dialogues.

Joe Brewer is the author of "The Design Pathway for Regenerating Earth" and co-founder of Earth Regenerators. He offers genuine hope by embracing the fundamental insight that all living systems self-organize around the patterns of regeneration.

He is a complexity researcher and transdisciplinary scholar who has devoted his life to helping humanity through the sustainability bottleneck. He weaves insights from the scientific study of cultural evolution, human cognition, and earth system science into frameworks for action. Prior affiliations in­clude the International Centre for Earth Simulation, the Center for Complex Systems Research at the Uni­versity of Illinois, the ­Cultural Evolution Society, the Rockridge Institute, and the Evolution Institute.
