Claire, a psychologist, and Ludovic, a landscape designer. Together, experts in curating beautiful physical and emotional spaces for people to feel safe, at peace, at home. To experience beauty and healing. They did so most certainly for all their guests in attendance, but quite so for us as well. A wedding experience like this reminds of us of the transcendence of weddings, the beauty of life, and the thrill of never knowing what new places & people will bring.

Perhaps the most intriguing piece to this story is the fact that we do share a common language with Claire & Ludovic. A shared spoken language, that is. We would argue, however, that the beauty of weddings is that there is an underlying language that transcends spoken or literal language. A language that emotionally and visually translates even stronger. Some say love is the universal language — might we add presence, care, hospitality, joy, laughter, and sincerity to the list.

While it wasn't until the editing and translation phase that the hours of speeches, toasts, letters, and vows from the day could be understood on our end, we still somehow felt the weight, the beauty, the intention, in each word spoken on the wedding day. As we observed and documented throughout the day, we had no choice but to notice all the more the body language — glances, laugher, hugs, tears. It was almost as if without any context or translation, the humanity — the presence of it all would have translated in any language or time.

A wedding day we wish never ended. Not once did the day feel rushed, frantic, or dull. Every moment was given its due space, and each hour was filled with grace. Lingering, food, song, kind words. More food, more song, and more joy ensued.
