It can get confusing for both landlords and tenants when a lease is being terminated. A landlord my decide to serve a tenant a termination notice with the expectation that the tenant is legally obligated to vacate on the stipulated date. This is often a misconception that can lead landlords to take steps such as changing the locks. In this video, I attempt to assist landlords to understand when it may in fact be appropriate to take such a step. Tenants too are able to understand what their rights are when a termination Notice is served versus when they receive an Eviction Order. The two are not the same.
