This video demonstrates thermal shock - what happens to glass when it undergoes a rapid temperature change from cold to hot. Our purpose in this video is to educate the public, Mainly Homebrewers, what happens to cold glass when hot liquid is poured into it. Please do not pour hot wort into your carboy when it is cold, or place a glass jar full of hot liquid on a cold surface. Not only could you experience cracking glass, but the glass could shatter violently. Happy Brewing!
