King of Kings – Revelation 19:11-16 – Rev. Dr. Tim Brown – 12/17/23

Advent is a season of anticipation. Just as ancient Israel waited for Jesus’ prophesied coming (Incarnation), so we are waiting now for Jesus’ promised Second Coming (Consummation).

The vast contrast between Jesus’ first coming and Second Coming could not be more different. His first coming was quiet, vulnerable and sacrificial. His return will be public, powerful, and judicial. It will consummate the plans and promises of God for resurrection, reunion and renewal of all things. This week’s message “King of Kings” from Matthew 2:1-14 and Revelation 19:11-16, reminds us that his first coming secured our place at his second coming.
