Описание к видео Casablanca “Centennial” Ceiling Fan

Brand: Casablanca
Model: The Centennial

To celebrate 1000 subscribers, here's a fan that celebrated the 100th anniversary of the electric ceiling fan.

This is a 60” Casablanca Centennial ceiling fan in a Bronze/Copper finish shown with the original set of Etched Rosewood blades and the integrated K4 light kit with G601 glassware. This fan was most likely manufactured in 1981 and is numbered 866.

For anyone familiar with the lore of Casablanca Fan Company, you've probably heard of The Centennial, a ceiling fan that was issued as a commemorative piece to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ceiling fan, at that point: 1881 - 1981. Similar to other early Casablancas, this fan took design inspiration from early 1900's antique ceiling fans, specifically early Diehl and Robbins & Meyers "Model E" ceiling fans. From what I understand, these fans were hand-built and had a limited production run of only 5000. Each fan features a numbered tag as shown in the video that included an inscribed signature from the Casablanca founder; Burton A. Burton.

Each fan was then packed in its very own wooden crate that would have been branded with the serial number corresponding with that fan. In my case, unfortunately, this fan came with all the original packaging except for the lid to the wooden crate. Because of that, I attempted to reproduce a lid out of Red Oak and branding the serial number using metal house numbers. The fan also features a decorative canopy that unfortunately cannot be installed with the shorter downrod size as shown in the video.

Remarkably, the original Slumber-Quiet, variable speed control system still works flawlessly. The quality of the build and materials is like nothing else, nearly all the parts are solid cast metal and weighing in around 36lbs, this is a very solid fan. Of course there is also the attention to detail and quality of the finish which in person is like a Polished Brass with a Copper undertone. Overall this fan kicks out your standard Casablanca breeze and operates perfectly, however there is the insane wobble on the highest speed. Originally this fan would have been packed with stickers on the blades that corresponded with numbers taped to the blade hub to ensure factory balance. Unfortunately, no matter how many configurations I assemble the blades, this fan still violently wobbles on high speed. But with the beautiful aesthetic low speed, I personally can’t see myself running this fan past medium.

Overall this is just a really cool fan that I'm happy to finally showcase. And thank you to the subscribers who keep this channel growing!
