MFJ-900 Antenna tuner , MFJ-901 Antenna tuner ,Small antenna tuner

THe Video today is on the MFJ-900 antenna tuner . We all call them antenna tuners but we are not really tuning the antenna we are adjusting for a good impedance match between the transmitter and the antenna and the feedline whether it is twin lead or coax. As I was told years ago antenna tuners do not actually tune the antenna but they do provide a good match to the transmitter and thus make the transmitter happy. The small MFJ tuners
work well and do a good job . I have been using this one a little over 2 years now with good results .
Notice The MFJ 269 antenna analyzer to show antenna SWR in the video . This analyzer is kept on the operating desk in the shack it is connected to a coaxial switch so it can be connected to the antenna quickly to align the antenna tuner this greatly reduces the chance of bothering someone on the air while checking SWR . 73 Bob
