That diplomatic trip is hosting the largest business delegation Korea has ever brought to Mexico.
President Park will be accompanied by 1-hundred-and-45 representatives from 1-hundred-and-40 Korean companies and business entities.

One of the key reasons for President Park Geun-hye's trip to Mexico,... aside from political and cultural diplomacy,... is the potential of the market.
Mexico is the second-largest market after Brazil in Latin America,... and it's known for its abundant mineral resources... and relatively cheap labor.
Its GDP currently stands at 1-point-2 trillion U.S. dollars,... and the growth rate is on an upward trend,... with projections of four-percent by 2018.
What's more, as Mexico has multiple free trade deals,... it's expected to act as a bridge for Korean companies to make inroads into the Americas.


"Korean firms could expand their opportunities and make inroads into the U.S. and Latin American markets by using Mexico as an export hub."

On top of that, the Korean government sees ample opportunities in the market,... as Mexico is pursuing large-scale investment in infrastructure projects... and revitalizing its domestic consumption market.
During summit talks with her Mexican counterpart,... President Park will likely discuss ways to establish cooperation in new industries, such as energy, healthcare and cultural content,... in addition to seeking ways to boost trade and investment.


"The president will attend a joint business forum and support the establishment of a cooperative network for businesspeople in the two countries."

Korea and Mexico established diplomatic ties in 1962... and became strategic partners in 2005.
Mexico is Korea's largest trade partner in Latin America.
Their bilateral trade volume reached 14-point-4 billion U.S. dollars last year.
