The Tesla Model Y is the undisputed king in the category of mid-size electric SUVs, but the competition is hotting up and the XPeng G6 is the latest Chinese car to go head-to-head with it.

For XPeng, the G6 is a must-win car. Sales have not come as easily of late but since the launch of the very good G9, the brand feels like they've come of age. The G6 is the epitome of their newfound strength, launching as it does their brand new SEPA 2.0 platform with 800-volt technology, mega-casting, cell-integrated body, and a whole host of other smarts, as well as, of course, their XNGP autonomous driving system.
