Sony FX9 6K Full Frame Camera

The Sony PXW-FX9 Full Frame Cinema Camera is a mix of Sony's Alpha, FS and VENICE cameras. It boasts an Exmor R sensor with 15+ Stops of Dynamic range with dual native ISO at 800 & 4000. It has the amazing Alpha series AutoFocus. And like the VENICE & F65, the FX9 can shoot 16-bit linear RAW.

Along with the FX9, Sony announced the XDCA-FX9, the FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G Cinema Lens, and their new S-Cinetone color science. The XDCA-FX9 module gives the FX9 the ability to use V-mount batteries, live stream or upload to FTP over RJ-45, and send a 16-bit linear raw signal to an outboard recorder.

The FE C 16-35mm T3.1 Cinema Lens allows users to take full advantage of the FX9's advanced AutoFocus while maintaining the high standards that come with a cinema lens. You can still enjoy the long throw of the focus and aperture rings, along with proper gears and high quality glass.

Sony's new S-Cinetone color enables quick turnaround with cinematic color. Unlike Sony's SLog3, S-Cinetone doesn't require any color grading to get a beautiful image. While SLog3 will still enable more flexibility in post, if you are on a tight turnaround, S-Cinetone is the right tool for you.

The FX9 body lists at $10,999. You can also get an FX9 with kit for $13,499.
