Skiing Zillertal Arena - Ski Slope 20 - Kapauns (2406m - 1910m) | With GPS Statistics

Kapauns (ski slope 20) is a wonderful ski slope with a beautiful view over the Zillertal. The ski slope starts at the mountain restaurant "Arena Stadl". In the 2022/2023 season, the slope has been renewed and expanded with the arrival of the new 8er Kapauns ski lift. As a result, the descent has become longer with a total length of 2010m!

There used to be long waiting times here with the old Kapauns ski lift (non-detachable two-seater ski lift), but with the arrival of the new 8er Kapauns, these waiting times are a thing of the past. Because the mountain station of the ski lift is now also higher on the mountain (Übergangsjoch), this is the new ski lift you have to take to ski from Zell am Ziller to Gerlos. The short part with the Krimml X-Press will soon expire and you will therefore have to take first ski slope 20 and then the Kapauns ski lift.

This is the first step in renewing the connection with Gerlos. This will be even better in the 2023-2024 season because the new Krimml X-Press will then be built. This will be a gondola with heated seats which offers a little more comfort than the current Krimml X-Press chairlift.
