You can do this on any car. I keep my throttles clean regularly (at least annually) and make it part of my regular service.
Also a short explanation to how they get dirty in the first place.

Apparently you shouldn't do this on recent Fords. The throttle body internals have a coating that inhibits dirt build up. I've still seen some bad ones though. So it's up to you, but I would.
