The Carrasco Family – Sunshine & Flowers (1975)

V.A. - Simple Things (Daystar DS 1002, 1975). Private pressing from Arizona.Compilation lp from the same label that released the first Parousia album Sedona (see entry). In fact there are three tracks from that album included here. The other artists don’t appear to have full length lps. Marie Parks contributes two songs: ‘Let Our Music Ring’, a brisk mid-rocking piece with piano and electric guitar, and the stirring ballad ‘Hush Now Little Baby’. The Barnetts (Terry and Sue Barnett) do three decent songs in an MOR/soft rock format. Personal favorite though was The Carrasco Family with ‘Sunshine & Flowers’ (a gentle playful flute-backed folk tune ala Ellis & Lynch) and ‘Did Anybody’, a mysterious dreamy soft rock track with compelling flute and brass accompaniment.
