The timing cover protects the area where the timing chain runs between the engine's crank shaft, and the camshafts, as well as a sealed output for the crank pulley to attach to the crank shaft. If the cover is cracked, or leaking from the gasket or seal, there is a potential for engine damage. This video shows you how to install a new timing cover on your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.
