I know what you're thinking: "But Tero, anyone can beat Poritoka, he has crummy stats and you can just camp out his power moves. What about Most?". Well, after playing this game for so long, I couldn't leave Most left undefeated, so here's a quick bonus video showing my next monster, Windy, and his final crusade for the top slot, including a showdown vs Most. Remember Phoenix and Durahan? They finally got used for something useful!

I'm sure the first thing you'll want to know is "How on earth are his stats so ludicrously high?!" Windy's stat total is over 5000, and even 4000 is considered super strong. The answer is Paradoxine, a special item you can find on the Torles Expedition. Paradoxine is a performance booster that gives your monster +30 to Pow and Skl for 4 weeks in exchange for a 10% loss to Spd and Def every week and a -18 lifespan hit. This doesn't sound that fantastic on its own, but remember, when you lose lifespan in this game, it's just done as straight addition to your current age, so if you have Paradoxine in infancy, when a monster's stat growths are basically nothing, you can gain 120 points to Pow and Skl for practically nothing. Windy had 4 of these things, increasing his Pow and Skl to a ridiculous 600 before he even finished Stage 1. As if that wasn't enough, Windy is a Garuda, which is a monster that has pretty strong growths in everything except Pow, Skl, and Spd, so he could easily max his other stats. I also did all of his errantry on the original Durahan, so Windy just got to inherit all of those techs.

Is using Paradoxine cheap? Maybe. But one thing's for sure: the world isn't ready for Windy power.

And so ends Monster Rancher 2. But of course, the battle isn't really over, there's 38 different types of monsters to raise and there's still a lot I haven't unlocked yet. If you want to try to raise every monster to win the Legend Cup, this game can last a long time.

"Windy sure is a strong monster
That's the understatement of the century."
