2021 Cherry Blossoms + City Tour of Washington D.C.

See what life is like in Washington D.C. during Spring 2021 and enjoy a scenic tour of the city. From Chinatown to the Tidal Basin's Cherry Blossoms, come explore the city with me.



We first entered D.C. from the G.W. Parkway, then going through Foggy Bottom and Chinatown.

Places to go around/in Chinatown:

CityCenterDC, a fantastic place to walk and take photos, many shops and restaurants, but most on the pricier side ($$)

Dolcezza, a gelato/coffee shop in CityCenterDC
They offer fantastic coffee and gelato, plus a local business in the DMV
My favs are the cold brew or iced coffee, and for gelato coffee & cookies, stracciatella, and tiramisu
Definitely be prepared to spend more than $5, items are bit pricy and remember flavors are rotated throughout the year

Full Kee, an establishment of Chinatown offers an incredible selection of traditional dishes. I have been here many times and the food and service are consistently good
I ordered General Tso's Chicken (which was pictured in the video), super delicious and the best take on General Tso's Chicken I've had in my life
Some things from the restaurant taste a lot better when eaten inside
Other things I enjoy, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Roast Pork, Roast Duck, Soy Chicken & Beef Chow Foon (of course there are other fantastic dishes, I just have not tried everything yet)

China Boy, a tiny Chinese eatery right around the corner from Full Kee
The rice noodle crepe with shrimp and handmade pork buns won't disappoint.
This place makes all their noodles handmade and the food is definitely affordable, if you want to explore D.C. on budget this place is a MUST.
They recently remodeled, but since the pandemic is going on still there is no seating.
Everything is carry-out only and they are taking precautions to keep everyone safe. This place is also frequented by many, so at peak hours be aware they may be a line (Hours are usually 9:30 am to 5 pm)

After we explored Chinatown (sorry, couldn't get footage from CityCenterDC, it was crowded)

We headed for Theodore Roosevelt Island across the bridge in Virginia to walk the Mount Vernon Trail (footage from the island and the trail will be in the next video).

On the way as we were coming out of D.C. we were able pass the Tidal Basin as well as other important buildings, but this particular weekend many people were visiting to take pictures with the Cherry Blossoms along the Tidal Basin. D.C. was flooded with cherry blossom tourists.

We crossed The George Mason Memorial Bridge to enter Virginia, the footage of the the beautiful water aligned with the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial is footage of the Potomac River.

The Potomac Rivers flows from the Potomac Highlands to the Chesapeake Bay. It forms a border between Maryland and Washington D.C. and other than a small portion is considered part of Maryland

There are various places along the Potomac River, you can park and take pictures, run, bike, walk, and picnic.

The ending gives you a glimpse of Theodore Roosevelt Island which is a memorial dedicated to the late 26th president. There are ranger programs on the island. People fish, birdwatch, watch wildlife, canoe, kayak, ride trails, walk, run, among other activities on the island.
