Pre Drywall Walkthrough - What You Need To Know

Описание к видео Pre Drywall Walkthrough - What You Need To Know

During the process of building your home you will have several meetings with the home builder. One of those meetings is called the Pre Drywall Walkthrough.
This meeting is held at your new home. On a dirt start home, this meeting typically takes place about 6 - 8 months after you sign the purchase agreement for your new home. This walkthrough will take about 30 to 45 minutes.
During the pre drywall you will be walking your new home with your construction supervisor. He will be pointing out where things are installed behind your walls. And most importantly, he will be going over your options list with you to make sure that all of your options have been installed and that those options are installed in the location that you are expecting. It if you want something to be moved or changed, this is the time to ask!

Before drywall goes up is a common time that homebuyers decide to hire an inspector to inspect the home. If you would like to have an inspection done at this time, be sure to give your home builder plenty of notice. I suggest letting your builder know at least a month in advance. Many builders require that your inspector fill out paperwork with them and get approval before entering the home. You also want to give the builder plenty of time to schedule the inspection on a day that no work is being done on your home.

Lastly, after your pre drywall meeting, I suggest taking a video of your home. It can be helpful in the future to refer back to your video for reference of what lies behind your walls.

Benefits of building a new home:

Building a new home offers several benefits. First and foremost, you have the opportunity to customize your home to meet your specific needs and preferences. From the layout and design to the finishes and fixtures, building a new home allows you to create a space that truly reflects your style and lifestyle.

Another benefit is that new homes are typically more energy-efficient than older homes. Building codes and standards have evolved over time, meaning that newer homes are constructed with better insulation, more efficient heating and cooling systems, and other features that can help reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills.

Additionally, when you build a new home, everything is brand new and under warranty. This means that you're less likely to encounter unexpected repairs or maintenance issues in the early years of homeownership.

Lastly, building a new home can be a rewarding experience. It gives you the opportunity to watch your vision come to life from start to finish. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing that every detail was chosen by you, resulting in a home that is uniquely yours.
