CIRCULARITY OF A COCONUT - Film by Zainab Mejja - My Kenya My Story

Took a challenge to create a short film for the 7th Edition of My Kenya My Story Mobile Phone Film Competition, by Kenya Film Commission. The theme for 2024 is “Climate Change: Lights, Camera, Planet – Films that Shape our Climate Agenda.”

Film Synopsis:
Coconut trees are one of the popular trees at the Coast of Mombasa, Kenya. And the coconut fruits they produce are a delight. In this film, we follow the life of a coconut from when it's on a tree all the way to The End. We get to explore its benefits, hangout at Mombasa chill spots, and get to appreciate all the goodness that comes with this wonderful fruit. The aim of this film is to highlight how important these trees are for our town, encourage people to plant and grow them, discourage people from cutting them down, and ultimately, protect our planet.
