Please note: Each dining room area is unique, and there are a number of things to keep in mind to figure out a height that will work with your dining room area including the size and scale of the chandelier and its relationship to the size and scale of your dining room area. The measurements I share, (see cm equivalents below), are a suggested starting point. When installing your dining room chandelier, I always recommend to ask your electrician to hold the chandelier at different heights above your dining table for you to see what will work best for your dining area or room so you can consider the chandelier size and dining room size.
