EV sales surpass diesel vehicles in Kerala

Electric vehicle sales hit new highs in February.
Kerala is moving forward as a favorite market for electric vehicles, the state's market has reached an all-time high in February this year.

A total of 6401 electric vehicles of all categories were newly launched in Kerala last month.
This is 294% more than the 2177 units in February 2002.
The previous record price was 5220 units, a growth of 123%.
At the same time, it can be said that this has affected the sales of diesel vehicles in a small way. In January, 4524 diesel vehicles were newly sold. In February, it decreased to 4042 units. So far this month, the sales of diesel vehicles are only 1373 units.

At the beginning of 2022, the total vehicle sales in Kerala were 2.5% with electric vehicles accounting for 6.70% of diesel vehicles, but now e.g. The share of V vehicles has changed from 10.91% to 7.50% of diesel.
Why we Malayalees or people in Kerala are choosing electronic vehicles more and more because they are environment friendly and maintenance cost is less than petrol and diesel vehicles on a long-term basis. Electric vehicles have become accepted because of high mileage safety and assurance that it is nature friendly. New models with rich teachers are also attracting consumers.

Production of PV passenger vehicle, two-wheeler and three-wheeler is also on the rise as many companies offer attractive offers and rising petrol-diesel fuel prices are attracting consumers towards e-vehicles.
