The Italian Cultural Institute🇮🇹✨promotes the residency of the musician, Federico Pascucci🎷 in Cairo in a new collaboration with Makan - ECCA, where Egyptian and Mediterranean tradition meets jazz music🎼✨

IIC Cairo is committed to promoting Italian arts and culture in Egypt. The most creative part from the point of view of cultural relations is the possibility of creating new collaborative projects between Italy and Egypt. The collaboration between Makan and IIC Cairo has made possible artist residencies, concerts, and exchanges that have developed relationships with the Italian musical world, opening new spaces for artistic creation, participatory experience, and dialogue. Between jazz and folklore, modal music and improvisation, common languages, new ideas and cultural relationships were born.

IIC Cairo e’ impegnato nella promozione in Egitto dell’arte e della cultura italiana. La parte piu’ creativa dal punto di vista delle relazioni culturali e’ la possibilita’ di creare nuovi progetti di collaborazione tra Italia e Egitto. La collaborazione tra Makan e IIC Cairo ha reso possibili residenze di artista, concerti e scambi che hanno sviluppato i rapporti con il mondo musicale italiano, aprendo nuovi spazi alla creazione artistica, all’esperienza partecipativa e al dialogo. Tra jazz e folklore, musica modale e improvvisazione sono nati linguaggi comuni, nuove idee, relazioni culturali.

Federico Pascucci è un musicista che da anni si dedica allo studio delle musiche tradizionali est europee e dell’Asia Minore. Ha vissuto l'esperienza della musica jazz attraverso un'intensa attività di studi e concerti in Europa, vivendo stabilmente nelle città di Lisbona, Amsterdam e Roma. Nel corso della sua carriera di studi si è formato presso la Scuola di Musica di Testaccio (Roma).

FEDERICO PASCUCCI is a musician hailing from Italy, he has lived the jazz music experience through an intense activity of studies and concerts around Europe, based in Lisbon, Amsterdam, and Rome. During his study career, he had many teachers like Kurt Rosenwrnkel, Eric Harland, George Garzone, Jim Snidero, and Je Ballard from the USA, as well as the Italian masters Pierluigi Quarta, Maurizio Giammarco, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu and Gianluigi Trovesi, in the schools of Testaccio (Rome),

فيديريكو باسكوتشى هو موسيقي كرس نفسه لسنوات لدراسة الموسيقى التقليدية لأوروبا الشرقية وآسيا الصغرى. عاش تجربة موسيقى الجاز من خلال نشاط مكثف للدراسات والحفلات الموسيقية في أوروبا ، حيث عاش بشكل دائم في مدن لشبونة وأمستردام وروما. خلال حياته المهنية ، تدرب في مدرسة Testaccio Music School (روما) ، ومعهد Frosinone Conservatory ، ومؤسسة Siena Jazz Foundation ، و Conservatorium van Amsterdam مع العديد من المعلمين (كورت روزنوينكل، وإريك هارلاند ، وجورج جارزون ، وجيم سناديرو ، وجيف بالارد من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ، بالإضافة إلى أساتذة إيطاليين مثل Pierluigi Quarta و Maurizio Giammarco و Enrico Rava وPaolo Fresu

The latest project of ECCA Makan, Nass Makan (« The people of Makan ») brings together the greatest musicians of Egypt on stage in a new sound. Famous custodians of the legacy of musical tradition, such as Zar performers Om Sameh and Om Hassan, Sayed Rekabi together with many unique instrumentalists. Gypsy Music from the Delta joins hands with Zar songs and Sudanese music styles, traditional instruments join contemporary ones. In the thoughtful and exhilarating arrangements, each singer and each music style is presented on a platform that respects the diverse musical tradition and brings it out in a new way.

هى أحد تجارب "مكان" (المركز المصري للثقافة والفنون) نسعى فيها لطرح "صوتًا" موسيقيًا جديدًا يشارك فيه عمالقة الموسيقيين فى مصر من حفظة التراث ومن ورثة المقامات والتقنيات الموسيقية الشعبية المأثورة. تعتمد التجربة فى أساسها على مفردات وقواعد وتقنيات الموسيقى الشعبية بجمالياتها وتفاصيلها الدقيقة وثراءها الشديد وقدرتها على النفاذ إلى قلب المستمع. منذ أن بدأنا فى العمل فى مجال الموسيقى الشعبية قبل سنوات مضت وهناك سؤال يطرح نفسه: ماذا بعد؟ ماذا بعد الوصول إلى ما تبقى من المصادر الحية لتلك الموسيقى؟ ماذا بعد تسجيلها وحفظها على وسائط تقنية حديثة؟ ماذا بعد تقديمها بدون "شوائب" وإضافات مُستغربة؟ ماذا بعد تقديمها مرات ومرات بنفس شكلها التقليدى؟. الإجابة بدأنا من مقولة الشيخ أمين الخولى "أول التجديد، قتل القديم فهمًا". لذلك تعد هذه التجربة هى محاولة فى طريق هذا التجديد حاولنا فيها أن نعمل على الأسس الصلبة لموسيقانا الشعبية نبنى عليها أشكالاً أو أصواتًا أو ألحانًا أو تراكيب مختلفة لنخرج فى النهاية بتجربة إبداعية جديدة.
