Adenium ‘somalense nova’ Tanzania x Adenium oleifolium - If we cross A. oleifolium with A. nova Tanzania, we may get quick caudex development on A. oleifolium and seedpods much earlier than the present duration of 12 to 15 months. Whatever the result, either dominant by ‘somalense nova’ or by oleifolium both will be attractive. Big caudex, lengthy narrow leaves, star-shaped flowers, dwarf, and quick growth may be achieved because of these cross.

My nova Tanzania is in India and my oleifolium is in Botswana. So, I decided to store the pollen for two to three months from this oleifolium plant, which may be disturbed from this place in a month or two. Based on my previous experience of storing arabicum pollen I started collecting flowers to extract pollen and store in the home freezer. Methodology to store pollen is clearly explained in this video.
Damp pollen should not be placed directly into the freezer as this may cause the pollen grains to burst. Pollen may keep indefinitely if stored at much lower temperatures. Pollen kept dry in a cold freezer for a year will usually work well as expected, but definitely not like fresh pollen. It all depends upon the correct method of storage. There may be failures also. When there is no flower in the host plant for cross-pollination one has to store the pollen for specified crosses, and it is good to use your stored pollen within a year.
