Levan Bichinashvili: Breaking the Wall of Lithium-Ion Battery Fires| Science Summit 2024

On 7 November 2024, Levan Bichinashvili presented their breakthrough idea, Breaking the Wall of Lithium-Ion Battery Fires, at the Falling Walls Lab Finale during the Falling Walls Science Summit 2024 in Berlin.

Levan Bichinashvili is addressing the fire risks associated with electric vehicles (EVs) due to their lithium batteries, which are prone to spontaneous combustion. Elven has developed a fireproof composite that encases these batteries, containing any fire or explosion within the enclosure to protect users and property. This composite withstands temperatures up to 2000°C, offers low thermal conductivity, and is flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective, providing enhanced fire and temperature protection for various industries.
