De entre todos los grandes e innumerables males de Morgoth, el primordial señor oscuro del Legendarium, Glaurung, el gran gusano, encarnó uno de los más terribles, pues cumplió tanto sus siniestros cometidos, como los encargados por su cruel amo, siempre a través de una voluntad inquebrantable y una soberbia fiera y eficaz. La historia de los hijos de Húrin, es sin más, la muestra voraz de una tragedia que se escribió bajo el daño de su mirada y con el hechizo envenenado de su profunda voz…

Desde el gran respeto y la alta e indudable influencia de Tolkien para el Gran Tumulario, El Mal Reptante fue un reto narrativo que pretende dar cabida a tan magna obra contando un acercamiento desde lo lirico y lo musical. Parte de una necesidad surgida por la fascinación mórbida hacia el mal, que luego se encausa para conectar con el cautivante pero peligroso reino de la subcreacion, la cual, en su verosimilitud, muchas veces cuenta con más coherencia que la realidad misma, siendo como Arte, el más perfecto y ameno de los refugios.

La larga cronología de la historia en cuestión se traduce en una letra de la misma naturaleza (entre las más extensas de Tumulario) y esto, con la consecuente dificultad de su interpretación, resulta en una canción que se enriquece por un juego de voces pendulantes que evocan los diferentes puntos de vista que presenciaron los hechos de este ser, dando cuenta de su vida, muerte y ante todo, del atroz, vil pero indudable legado del Dragon en la historia con sangre de Arda y Beleriand.
