Love, Life and Dementia | Uncle David & Aunty Alice's story

Twelve years ago, David’s wife, Alice, was diagnosed with dementia. David became Alice’s carer almost overnight.

He says he wouldn’t have it any other way. “It’s what you do when you love someone."

Over the past few years, David has started to receive assistance from The Nightingale Program, an initiative led by Dementia Australia. The program supports people living with advanced dementia, their families and their care givers.

As David says, “You can give people all the medication they want, but it’s not going to help them if they haven’t got love.”

David and Alice's story play a vital role in 'Live the life you please,' a feature film that will release on May 22nd, 2023.
