Watchuwant is now WatchBox!

The Omega Constellation is a luxury watch institution. Since its 1952 debut, the "Connie" has transformed from a line of formal watches inspired by observatory timing trials to a true "constellation" of luxury watches.

The 38mm stainless steel Omega Constellation Double Eagle ranks among the most versatile and contemporary premium timepieces available to the modern luxury watch enthusiast.

Since its 1982 reboot as the Omega Constellation "Manhattan" the Omega Constellation with the "Griffon" claws at each case flank has been a bestselling fixture in the Biel/Bienne watchmaker's catalog. In 2006, Omega took its dress watch breadwinner and added a new dimension: masculinity.

As a hybrid of a sports watch and a formal reference, the Double Eagle fortifies the case, lugs, bracelet bezel, hands, and "Griffon" brackets of the Constellation and adds 100-meter water resistance. More than a makeover, the revisions endow the formerly mild Constellation with an unprecedented appetite for active lifestyles, casual clothing, and Y chromosomes.

The Omega Constellation Double Eagle is the rare "Connie" that can vie for wrist time with Rolex Submariners and Omega's own Seamaster models; the Double Eagle has that kind of presence.

Fittingly for a watch that evokes raptor imagery and appeals to male sensibilities, the Double Eagle comes equipped with a robust steel bracelet that splits the difference between a supple dress companion and a hardcore diver. The finish and feel say "dinner party" but the substance and tough double-deployant clasp say "pool party."

With an automatic-winding co-axial Omega caliber 2500, the Omega Constellation Double Eagle features a distinctive point of interest shared by none of its rivals from Breitling and Rolex. Sixteen years after is public debut, the George Daniels co-axial escapement remains one of the few true alternative escapement technologies on the market, and it remains the ONLY such device priced below the five-figure range (most options, such as the Girard-Perregaux Constant Force, retail for six figures...).

Greet summer 2015 with a watch that's ready for good times indoors and out; this outstanding Omega Constellations Double Eagle can be seen in high-resolution images on www.thewatchbox.com. Video and content by Tim Mosso
