Tom Baker sends a video greeting and replies to a recent letter.

Описание к видео Tom Baker sends a video greeting and replies to a recent letter.

Dr Whos most beloved incarnation, Tom Baker, sends a video greeting while signing the portrait I chose as my Birthday present. This was recorded several years before being posted to youtube. In the video Tom responds to a number of things we had been communicating about, including which Doctor Who movie prop replica I should build next. Where Tom speaks about his adventures sometimes including "A Tin Dog" he is giving his response to that question. Toms very last comment before saying goodbye would cause me concern from the moment I first heard it. I wasn't to fully appreciate its true meaning until much, much later. Such is the cryptic way in which Tom can communicate at times.

Tom Baker is unique in many wonderful ways, and that includes the fact his iconic voice has never changed over the years, despite the inevitable advancing of years. If you close your eyes and listen to him speaking he sounds virtually indistinguishable from how he sounded in the 1970s. That is EXTREMELY rare.

I suspect Toms cat has heard all this Dr Who stuff before. If you watch it closely, you can see the point where it gets fed up and departs the room. I didn't notice this when I first received the video. Just another layer of depth that is hidden in this video greeting.

FOOT NOTE
The portrait Tom is signing in this video would ultimately get framed in something befitting of such a wonderful man, and now takes pride of place in my hallway, alongside my other Tom Baker & Dr Who memorabilia. The thumbnail of this video shows the portrait, once framed.
