1953 McCormick Super W-6 Overview

An overview of my 1953 McCormick Super W-6. The Super W-6 is the standard tread variant of the Farmall Super M and features an identical power train. Like the Super M, The Super W-6 was also built in 3 stages. The first stage, like the Super M featured the power train upgrade including a larger engine, different transmission with increased speeds in second, third, and fourth gears, and disc brakes. Stage one tractors have the serial numbers 501-3950. The stage 2 features sealed beam headlights, new engine controls, channel iron frame rails and 18" front tires. Stage 2 tractors bear the serial numbers 3951-9084. Then came the Super W-6TA tractors which had optional live PTO. They start out at serial number 10001. I go on to explain casting date codes and show the various locations they are located. 3450 Stage 1 tractors, 5134 stage 2 tractors and 3006 Super W-6TA tractors were produced.
