True, BackOnTrack has visited Svilengrad quite a few times now. And frankly, this is a quite nice location as the tracks are modernized and still holding up. 💪 But never before have we released a video with a 🇩🇰⚡️Danish electric. Behold the ex-DSB litra EA locomotive of 🇩🇪 DB Cargo Bulgaria, 86 014, pulling a passenger service for 🇧🇬 BDZ PP. Built by Scandia in Randers with a unique Henschel design, it represents the first generation of Danish electric locomotives. To date, almost the entire fleet has been transferred to Bulgaria where DB Cargo and Bulmarket are driving freights with these machines.

But last year, BDZ PP also hired two such locomotives as it desperately needed traction. Hence this...rare and unique sight.

It is not likely such trains will be seen running again in the near future. Why? Because BDZ PP ordered 15 Smartron locomotives from Siemens. 10 of them have already arrived and are helping the national carrier to carrier with its ever-growing locomotive deficit.
