The SumIfs Function is an awesome Excel function. It came out with Excel 2007. It is superior to the Sumif function. The Sumif function only allows one criterion. The Sumifs function allows 29 criteria. In this video I look at referencing cells with Sumifs, using operators with sumifs.

Examples of SUMIFS:
States are listed in column A, Cities are listed in column B, and Purchase amount in column C.
To find the total purchases by State and by a specific city in column B, use SUMIFS. An example of the formula would be =SUMIFS(C2:C12, A1:A12. "GA", B1:B12, "Atlanta") would find all purchases for Atlanta, GA customers.

With the SUMIFS function, the sum range comes first. Followed by criteria. The criteria has two arguments, the criteria range and then the criteria.
