Izgrim x Jasper - Hologram

Musically, “Hologram” draws influences from #80s new wave, cold wave and industrial electronic music. The song touches subjects of obsession, anxiety, escapism and becoming emotionally attached to people, objects or states of consciousness. All this accompanied by a CGI music video made by Izgrim.

It’s our second collaboration.We're going on about pretty hard and depressive topics - in general, we want to touch subjects that are usually frowned upon, pushed into abyss of collective social thinking, like they don't exist. Out of every direction, we are forced upon with these images of happiness, smiling people, feeding their egos with consumerism - not necessarily because they need it but from the compulsive need of this "dopamine shot" mechanism.

With layers of synthesizers, drum machine beat reminiscent of heartbeat and Izgrim’s expressive vocals we tell a tale about how humans delight in becoming emotionally attached, even though we do not realize that. We tie ourselves to places, things, people, drugs and emotions. When someone takes away our „serum”, we begin to mutiny. Road to consciousness requires one to get rid of all holograms.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but we are allowed to feel sad. We are allowed to feel lonely.

Among our influences we can list various #coldwave, new wave and no wave bands - all of which often dealt with these topics in their music.
