Exploiting city funds, he transformed Angel Place into a fortress of illegal activities, including drug smuggling through Amsterdam’s ports. His reign saw violent incidents like the 1978 gang rape at Angel Place, sparking public outrage and feminist protests.

By the 1980s, Boxtel expanded his empire across the Netherlands and Scandinavia, dominating brothels and nightclubs as fronts for his criminal enterprises. His control over Amsterdam’s ports solidified his status, making him a key player in global drug trafficking.

Despite his attempts to maintain power, internal conflicts and escalating gang violence led to his downfall. Expelled from the Hells Angels in 2004, Boxtel faced numerous criminal charges, but astonishingly, by 2022, he was acquitted of money laundering.
