RAINBOW HIGH SWIM & STYLE SUNNY MADISON DOLL UNBOXING & REVIEW! ☀️ What Hair Fiber Does She Have? 🤔

Today I have the new Swim & Style Rainbow High budget doll of Sunny Madison to check out! I bought her on Amazon for $15 and she is a part of this new reboot/relaunch of Rainbow High!

Before I even had the chance to open her I had seen some murmurings that this doll had polypropylene hair. If you’re a Monster High fan or a long time playline doll collector you are probably familiar with poly hair.

Essentially, Rainbow High uses two types of hair fiber, Nylon and Metallic Nylon. It’s a great hair fiber that can hold a curl very well, jt is easy and fun to style, and is fluffy and cloud like when brushed out. Metallic Nylon is similar but just more prone to frizzing up.

Now Miss Polypropylene is a different story. Poly hair fiber is much more stiff and dry, it does hold curls well but it is much more difficult to style given the stiffness. It also deteriorates the quickest of the synthetic doll hair fibers and is very hard to rescue and recover once it gets matted and tangled.

BASICALLY, it is un-fun, low quality, and all around has a bad reputation. It’s bad for kids, bad for adults, and ya know what probably bad for the environment too!

SO the question of the day then becomes: Does Swim & Style Sunny have polypropylene?

Well yes.

I would say she does. After holding her in my hands, washing, styling and playing with her, the hair fiber behaves most similarly to poly.

That is not to say this doll is bad and that I hate her. On the contrary, I am fond of her for what she is. An affordable doll with decent taste and style all things considered.

I don’t think this spells doomsday for Rainbow High BUT I am reasonably considered, weary, and cautious of the future.

She’s still cute but I am Sunny biased atm.
