Описание к видео O Holy Night on the Harp

O Holy Night is performed on the harp by Hailey Smith at the Carl House in Auburn, GA. BB Webb was so gracious to allow me to come, play, and enjoy her delightful Christmas Decorations.

O Holy Night was translated into English in 1855 by Unitarian Minister John Sullivan Dwight. In 1906, it was the very first Musical Piece ever to be broadcasted via AM radio airways.

This song broke through language barriers into English right before the Civil War. Imagine living in 1862 during the time that our nation was going through such perils and conflict with regards to, (among other things) slavery.
Listen to this verse: Truly He taught us to lover one another; His law is love and His Gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother; and in His name all oppression shall cease. Sweet Hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we; let all within us praise His holy name! Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever! His power and glory evermore proclaim! His power and glory evermore proclaim!
