8. Shake Your Shaker and Stop

This is such a fun song that can be sung with homemade shakers. Kids can find all the materials around the house. Instructions and mp3 and more can be found here:

The shaker I use in the video is even simpler! It just take a toilet paper tube, paper to cover, rubber band or glue to hold the pater, tape for the ends, and a little rice or other small food item for sound (don't fill- it needs room to wiggle!). If you fold one end of the tp tube at right angles to the other ( shown in video), it make a nice little three-dimensional container which can hold the filler. And you don't need any "stopper" for the ends! Kids can also draw their own pictures on paper before covering the tube, or decorate with any handy craft materials.
