Abu Dhabi's Mosque, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, is the largest mosque in the UAE. If you are in Abu Dhabi, we highly recommend that you visit it.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was the vision of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed. He wanted the mosque to be a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. His vision was to create a mosque to spread peace, tolerance, and diversity.

We started off our tour of the mosque by making our way through the Tolerance Path to the main entrance. Entrance to the mosque is free. You can also take a guided tour of the mosque for free as well. At the entrance to the mosque, you will see the courtyard. The mosaic on the floor of the courtyard is the largest in the world. From the courtyard, you can also see some of the mosque's domes as well as minarets. Walking along the pathways around the mosque, there are beautifully decorated columns. Each column was handcrafted and inlaid with stones. Once we made our way to the entrance of the prayer hall, we saw the first of the mosque's seven chandeliers. In the main prayer hall, we were able to see the largest of the chandeliers as well as the world's largest carpet. We were fortunate to be able to visit the mosque before sunset, so we got views during the day and at night. At night, the mosque is lit up using a special lighting system that follows the phases of the moon. We really enjoyed our guided tour of the mosque and learned many fascinating facts from our tour guide.
