THE CANDLEWOOD HORROR

It was a dark and stormy night as the couple arrived at the foot of the wide mountain. Their vacation hadn't exactly started off as planned, but they would not let a little bad weather ruin their trip.

"I told you we should have turned left on Candlewood Road, Kate!"

Kate threw her husband the keys, shrugged, and grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels.

"Shove it, Chuck, it's your fault we're in this mess to begin with! Why don't you listen, Chuck! You never listen!"

Chuck remained cool and focused. Chuck ground his teeth to keep from yelling at her, slammed the car door, and approached the foot of the mountain with the gun in his hand. As Chuck stormed the base of the mountain, he stumbled over a rock, and went sprawling. Kate had watched Chuck fall, and had begun to laugh so hard that Jack Daniels was coming out of her nose. As Kate managed to catch her breath from the laughing, she suddenly froze as she heard the sound of someone screaming.

"What do you think," Kate asked as she ran over to Chuck, and helped him up, "Should we ignore that?"
